I do not get into gadets. Like, at all. I think some things are cool and would be fun to tinker around with, but for the most part if it runs off of a battery or needs to be programmed at all I don’t care for it. I can say this with certainty, because even after I got my 60GB iPod for Christmas, it sat in the box for almost three weeks before I summoned the strength to figure out how it worked. And the only thing I can still figure to upload is music.
I don’t care about cell phones either, until this was dropped on my doorstep a week ago

Isn’t she beeeeutiful??? I never cared about cell phones, just wanted one that worked, but I love this one mainly because it’s pink. And it plays Fergilicious when Tim calls.
So that’s all. Not a lot going on here, and yet a lot is going on. I’ve recently started reading again for fun (anyone who knows me, knows this is odd b/c I don’t like to read) and finished The Nanny Diaries (for the third time) just in time for the movie to come out next weekend. I really hope they end it differently than in the book, because the ending was sad. Sad, but real. And I don’t like to live in reality when being entertained. I have some other books I want to read, but I’m looking for some suggestions on fun, light reading - anyone got any to share?

Sisterhood of the traveling pants, although I was told by a friend that her highschool students were reading it, but that is the level I like to read (and be entertained) on! Also, I always fall back to my Little House on the Prairie books! Have a great day!

Roald Dahl (children’s)
I have many many more…

Anything by Karen Kingsbury or Neta Jackson are my favorites!! I’m a total book worm, I’d rather sit down with a book than a movie ANY day;)
Cute phone! I have the silver one, I’m not crazy about the camera, but it’s cute and really that’s all that matters.

Hi Candace! it was nice of kelly to put a link to your site on her blog - i lost all blog links when i gave up my work computer months ago. so here i am, and it’s good to be back into your blog-world.
great to hear you’re reading! i’m devouring books right now. I’m working my way through a series of essays by Barbara Kingsolver called “Small Wonder” and also just purchased her newest book “Animal, Vegetable, Miracle” - it’s about living off the land. She’s a great writer. Though neither of those books would be “lite” - they’re entertainning and interesting and well written.
dang, i come back after months to comment on your blog and i leave a novel - this comment is definitely not light reading, but at least you like to read now because i gave you a lot of words!

I, too, have not learned how to work my iPod. I didn’t ask for it, so I think I’m rebelling. Don’t get me wrong, it was a terrific gift from dear old dad…he even had it engraved for me! BUT! I don’t connect with it.
As for books, I am not a big reader either, but I do enjoy Jennifer Weiner’s books. I think she only has 3 out right now, and I’ve loved all of them!

I second Jennifer Weiner, Harry Potter, and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Anything by Madeleine L’Engle is good, and there is a series I recently lent Kelly that I love too. You are always welcome to come browse at my house, I have about a thousand books, although they are not very organized right now.

I love that phone. really pretty. I’m a gadget girl. And I can upgrade to a new phone this week. Now I can’t decide lol The one I really want because it can do stuffs that I want it to do - it’s not pretty and it’s big lol
The one that is pretty, can’t do everything I want it to do. I will never be happy lol

I HIGHLY reccommend Francine Rivers - her Mark of the Lion series is phenominal, but if you don’t want to plow through that, her other, shorter historical fiction books are just as good (Redeeming Love, The Last Sin Eater), although I don’t care for her contemporary fiction as much. Also, you’ve got to read the Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells - you’ll love all the Ya-Yas, especially since you have that whole Southern woman thing going on. That’s definitely one that is a guilty pleasure re-read for me!

I think I still have my Francine Rivers floating around, amazing book! I have all seven potters too….that is my vote and I have the series that Erin lent me, “Pretties”, “Uglies” and “Specials” but I haven’t started them yet.

I have a Razr too! But mine is silver. They didn’t have pink when I got mine. I really like it, though. They’re rather cute. As for light reading, I love to read Janet Evanavich when I’m needing something more fun and frivilous. Read the numbers series. They’re about a female bounty hunter, and they’re really funny!
